Active Cranbrook
Physical Literacy Society

Vision: Cranbrook is a healthy and physically literate active community.

Together we move!

Mission: Active Cranbrook promotes, educates, and supports physical literacy in our community. We work to improve lives by encouraging movement while having fun.

Just move
and feel great!

Our Story

Just move and feel great!

Active Cranbrook is a non-profit society created to promote, educate and support physical literacy programs. We partner with groups wishing to adopt physical literacy into their current program, organization and professional development by guiding people to feel competent and confident in moving – on land, water, ice or snow, and on wheels.

Physical literacy is for everyone, including all ages and abilities – positively impacting health and well-being.

Spring 2024

Spring 2024

This year, Active Cranbrook is growing and expanding on our 3 grassroot programs from 2023. Our volunteers will be assisting the City of Cranbrook's Mobility Enhancement Program at Western Financial Place on Monday and Thursdays from 11am - 12 pm until December 12th, 2024.  This year Active Cranbrook will be assisting a registered Kinesiologist with Kootenay Therapy to take the lead. Active Cranbrook will be working on expanding this program into a "Mobility Advancement" program for individuals who need a more advanced program to prepare them for various recreational and sporting activities.  In addition, we are hoping to share this very successful program with additional nearby communities.
