Sample Game Cards
NEW
Preschool Action Kits
Active Cranbrook pulled together and developed a number of resources that will help care givers and families to assist in new ideas to enhance young children's basic fundamental movement skills in preparation for school and an active lifestyle. There are 6 Family Kits and 2 Group Kits filled with resources and equipment to get pre school children active and learning gross motor skill movements in a fun and creative way.
The kits contain 20 Game cards that were created by Active Cranbrook, and 20 Animal movement cards. There is lots of information for families and care givers to learn "what skills should your preschooler be able to demonstrate before entering Kindergarten" and ideas on how to get there.
There are also recommended websites that have tools to develop more games, action songs, and ideas to encourage active play.
How this project came to be?
Active Cranbrook worked with Community Connections Society of Southeast BC, which sponsors a program called “East Kootenay Child Care Resource and Referral”. Together, our organizations applied for funding through the "2023 Community Foundations Grant".
Active Cranbrook met with staff to see what their needs were, and together ideas for content came together.
